Movie Review: Vampires Suck
Yesterday, we saw "Vampires Suck" - first movie that had a better title in german, I think. It's "Beilight - Biss zum Abendbrot" which is funny because almost everyone reads "AbendBrot". Anyway, I hate the real Twilight stuff so I was pretty excited to see a parody.
I gotta say it's not bad. Some parts went blue too much. I'm not into all that fartin'-kind of humor. But ye know, there were parts I found definetively funny. Like the war between Team Jacob and Team Edward. Or that the makers of Vampires Suck actually realised the similarities between The Vampire Diaries and Twilight - which is obvious. Twilight is more or less based on Vampire Diaries. The series which runs on CW atm doesn' have anything to do with the books anymore besides the character names 'cause they had to change the whole plot, otherwise it would have been exactly like Twilight. Just with two vampire brothers which fight for the same girl and not a vampire and a werewolf.
Uhm, anyway, I liked how they made fun especially of Edward and Bella (Becca in Vampires Suck). I mean, right at the beginnin' the showed Becca in the truck with her iPod - playlist named "Angsty teenage mix". Awesome!
All these little side blows to Twilight were just...dunno...it's just that I really cannot understand this fuckin' hype 'bout it. Seriously, this oh-so-pure love between them and all this "Wow, I don' know ye but I'm so in love with ye that I will die if ye don' make me a vampire, too" crap makes me puke. Sorry, but it's the truth.
All these girls scramin' like mad when it comes to Edward, all this witterin' bout "God, he loves her so much, he's such a romantic, wonderful, carin' man; I wanna be the mother of his babies" is so ridiculous! Edward isn't unreal 'cause he's a bloody vampire, he's unreal 'cause no real man would act like this -unless he's a total nutter, brainless, out of his mind, drugged or just bloody stupid.
So yes, I think, Vampires Suck was funny even if there were parts that were unnecessary.
I guess my most favourite scene was when Jacob visits Becca in her room, pulls off his shirt and when she asks him why he just says: "I gotta term in my contract which says I have to do that every five minutes!". Than he sprays Axe (is it Axe or just water?) all over his body to get a wet effect XD
Well, conclusion: not the best movie, some very lowbrow jokes but anyway a good spoof of the Twilight crap.
