Movie Review - Inception
Wow! Finally a movie that is worth to see in the cinema!
My darlin' an' me went yesterday and hey, we got the english original! Just a few people with us, it was quite empty. Better for us, though!
And hell, I like this movie! It wasn' that hard to follow the story or the different levels of the dreams. Not as hard as I thought concerin' some critics I read first.
My favourvite scene definetively was the one where Arthur is in that corridor in that hotel and fights off the subconsciousness of Fischer Jr. The whole thing is spinnin' around so gravity has no meanin' anymore which looks really great! I love all this surreal stuff. And the camera is really cool - I mean, there are a lot of great pictures in that movie which means huge inspiration for me.
Gotta admit: I really do love Arthur. He's great. And the tension between him and Eames is just too funny to play with. By the way, Eames is a bloody cool character, too. I like these kinda guys, the conmen. And Forgery is such a fascinating skill. I would be a forger if I could do that job. Definetively! So many possibilities! Awesome! Fantastic!
Which brings me to that hilarious scene where Eames in his female disguise touches Saito, he's completely confused and you can see Eames' real face smiling in the...dunno...third level of the mirror. Stunning picture.
'nother thing: Ariadne! I like her very much! Really! She's amazing. As the Architect and as a character. She knows that stuff about Cobb and Mal and she saves the whole mission! On her own! You know, kicking Fischer out of Limbo, litteraly XD
And I like her humor and the way she acts between the guys. Sweet girl. Very sweet girl.
The end was actually pretty good 'cause it made everyone thinkin'. Had a lot to do with my studies. The whole "Am I dreamin' even if I think I'm not?" stuff would be quite usefull.
Another thing I liked was the mix between Thriller and Action movie. It wouldn't 've been so good if it would be different. It was the right balance. Not too much thinkin' but not too much "Kaboom" either.
As always Hans Zimmer created a wonderful soundtrack. The actors were good; I even liked Cillian Murphy (most of the time I think he's kinda creepy). Leonardo DiCaprio is definetively not that teeny idol anymore which is a big improvement concernin' his acting and his whole charisma. I liked that he wasn't the classy hero but a psychotic broken man that jeopardised the whole mission.
Special effects: stunning! The street upside down was amazing and the already mentioned spinnin' corridor. The van fallin' in slow motion was pretty cool, too. Especially 'cause it was just for seconds and in dream levels like 20 minutes. Awesome!
Really a good movie! Wanna see it again. And I'm pleased that we watched it in english first so I never have to deal with crappy synchronisation. I'm lookin' forward to the DVD release...
Probably my favourite movie in ages!
EDIT: Ouch! I heard the german voices just once and it's absolutely horrible! Geez, it's a bloody insult to the ears! Just my opinion but I think they miscasted almost everyone! Especially Eames and Arthur! Arthur sounded so much out of character! Well, never watch that movie in german, guys.
